We are very happy to introduce the talented designers and engineers that were added to the FLEX team lately. We kick off with a few questions for senior engineer Wouter Janssen.
What is your background? I studied Industrial Product Design in Enschede. During my masters I did an internship at Feiz Design, Bregonje Industrial Design and Konings&Kappelhoff. After I graduated I moved to the South of Germany, where I joined Yellow Design as an industrial designer.
Next, I went to Budde Industrie Design where I focused on the more technical aspects of the design process. I designed professional machines for clients like Claas and Ima Pharma. Afterwards I returned to the Netherlands and joined NPK. At NPK I made products ready for manufacturing for clients like Oilily, Nordeon and LMS instruments .
Why did you pick this field as a career? I have always been fascinated by the diversity of projects and the creativity of the solutions that you encounter on a daily basis in the creative industry.
Why did you choose FLEX and what will you add to the team? I choose FLEX because of its fresh and optimistic character. I find the diversity of projects and clients very interesting and challenging. I always want to know how stuff works. I really like to solve complex mechanical problems and bring concepts in to reality.
When you’re not busy solving complex design challenges, what do you like to do? I like to go running and cycling. I also enjoy restoring and – of course – driving my classic motorbike.
